South Bay Wheelmen
We are the official South Bay Wheelmen headquarters. The SBW cycle team promotes cycling through training, competition, and social activities. Founded by Ted Ernst, back in 1961, SBW is dedicated to promoting professional and recreational cycling throughout the South Bay.
SBW sponsors the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix. They also sponsor the Dave Richardson race series and the Baxter Time Trial series. Both of these series are exlusive to SBW members and are scored in different age categories and skill levels. This is an excellent way to learn how to race or hone your skills before competing in an USCF event. SBW participates in weekly local rides for beginning and intermediate skill levels. The club holds regular clinics and hosts yearly social events including a club Picnic in Feb., a Pizza party, and a Christmas Holiday party.
